Location & Directions
The Monmouth College Office of Admission is on the corner of Sixth Street and East Broadway. Parking is available in the parking lot on the east side of the building or on East Broadway. Accessible parking is available on the north side of the building, off Sixth Street.
Planes, trains and automobiles
The easiest way to get directions to campus by car is to use Google Maps. Click the link and enter your starting address or just type in the college address: 700 East Broadway, Monmouth, Illinois.
Amtrak has three lines that stop in Galesburg, about 20 minutes east of Monmouth. Prospective students: If you choose to travel by rail, our Admission Office will arrange a ride for you from the train station to campus and back again. Amtrak trains leave Chicago’s Union Station for Galesburg three or four times each day.
Monmouth is one hour from both the Peoria International Airport and the Quad Cities International Airport in Moline, Illinois. Southeast Iowa Regional Airport – located 30 minutes away in Burlington, Iowa – offers direct service from St. Louis (Lambert-St. Louis International or St Louis Airport) and Chicago (O’Hare International).
International gateway airports with connecting flights to Peoria or Moline include O’Hare (Chicago), Hartsfield-Jackson (Atlanta), Detroit Metro, Dallas/Fort-Worth, Denver and Minneapolis-Saint Paul. Our Admissions Office will arrange a ride for prospective students and incoming new international students from the Peoria, Burlington and Moline airports.*
The Peoria Charter Bus Service has routes from O’Hare International Airport (Chicago) to Peoria. Our Admission Office will pick up new international students who travel by bus from Chicago to Peoria at the Bradley University Student Center stop in Peoria.
Reputable companies include Enterprise (in Galesburg, Peoria and Moline), Hertz (in Moline and Peoria) and more (Alamo, Budget, etc.)
Taxi or ride-share service
Taxi or ride-share services are available in Galesburg. It is best to reserve the taxi in advance of your arrival.
* International students who are traveling to Moline, Burlington, Peoria or Galesburg with family members – please let the Office of Intercultural Life know that you will be accompanied by family; they will help you make arrangements for transportation to Monmouth College. Please do not assume that there will be room in the pickup vans driven by Orientation Leaders for family members. We can help your family members find good ways to get to Monmouth College – but please correspond in advance about your plans with staff in Intercultural Life.
