Service

Learning through serving others is critical to balanced human development and an excellent path to leadership development.

Giving back is the goal

Service is such a big part of Monmouth that we call it service-learning. Service-learning programs bring together giving back and supporting our communities and educating our students on community issues to get them thinking critically to help solve those issues. We have a number of service-learning events throughout the school year.

If your organization is in need of volunteers let us know. Students, we want to know how many service hours you are participating in make sure to track them.

A day each fall where our whole campus pitches in to help. Our students, faculty and staff volunteer within the local community at pre-assigned locations like the animal shelter, nursing homes and local community centers.

Volunteer and Internship Fair

Our volunteer and internship fair is a great opportunity for students, faculty and staff to learn about and volunteer for community organizations that make Monmouth such a great place to live. The goal of the fair is for students to learn about community needs and the importance of giving back to our community.

Alternative Spring Break

Each year during spring break, a group of students travel to a destination outside of the city of Monmouth to explore issues affecting those in other communities. These trips often consist of full days helping the community, learning about local issues, and enjoying the area.
