Apply for Financial Aid

But first, fill out your FAFSA.

Students apply for financial aid at Monmouth by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It should be filed on an annual basis for each individual student in your household who plans to attend college.

This fall, due to changes from the federal level, the FAFSA will not be available until December 2023. Check our FAFSA updates page!

The FAFSA is typically available beginning Oct. 1 of the academic year prior to the year for which you’ll be applying for aid. For example, students may file the FAFSA any time after Oct. 1, 2023, to apply for aid for the 2024-25 academic year.

Visit the FAFSA website to get started by creating an FSA ID, the ID number you will use to electronically sign and submit your FAFSA each year. Both students and the parents of dependent students will be required to electronically sign the application with federally issued FSA User IDs and passwords.

We strongly recommend all students file the FAFSA as soon as possible each year in order to maximize your consideration for funding. Please include Monmouth College’s school code: 001725 on the application.

The results of the FAFSA will help to confirm your eligibility for funding through federal and state programs including grant, loan and work programs.

The FAFSA results will also help to determine the amount of any additional Monmouth College need-based grants that you could receive. All Monmouth students are automatically considered for academic scholarships based on their admission application and submitting the FAFSA is not required to be awarded academic scholarships. However, additional grant funding from Monmouth may be available based on FAFSA results.
