Chris Walljasper covers issues facing rural America, the agriculture industry and food production, writing for a wide variety of publications.
After graduating from Monmouth, Chris received his master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. He was a 2019 national fellow at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg Center for Health Journalism, as well as a recipient of the National Press Foundation’s 2019 Innovations in Food and Agriculture fellowship.
In 2020, He was selected to be a part of the Journalist in Residence program with the Stigler Center at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. When he’s not reporting, Chris is spending time with his four kids and wife, cycling around Chicago and playing 16-inch softball in Chicago’s Kup media softball league.
