Biography

I spent much of my childhood traveling the world because my father worked for Pizza Hut. I was born in Toronto, then I my family live in Sydney (where my brother was born) for a couple of years before we moved to Hong Kong. We then moved to Surrey County, England, and then back to Toronto, where I went to high school.

In college, I double-majored in chemistry and economics because I enjoyed both subjects. I focused on chemistry in graduate school at the University of Rochester. While there, I decided I wanted to teach college.

Following graduate school, I did an 19-month post-doctoral fellowship at Trinity University in San Antonio before coming to Monmouth in fall 2015.

Interests

As an organic chemist, my passion is teaching at a small liberal arts college where I can work closely with students and help them realize their potential. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter and, when I have time, weight-lifting and reading fantasy and sci-fi.
