Biography

With more than two decades of experience as a studio artist, Janis has an active national and international presence in the field of ceramics. She has been included in numerous exhibitions and museum collections.

Janis was featured in the documentary film Who Does She Think She Is? and has been the recipient of several awards and grants, including multiple grants from the Virginia Groot Foundation, Ohio Arts Council and Greater Columbus Arts Council.

Interests

Her areas of interest include ceramics, art history (ancient ceramics, archeometry, porcelain), painting and the intersection of art and science (3D ceramic printing).
