Biography
Kenzi grew up outside of Canton, IL on a small hog farm attending Spoon River Valley before becoming the first in her family to attend and graduate college here at MC. During her four years at Monmouth College, Kenzi was a member of Alpha Xi Delta, as well as several honor societies, including the White and Crimson Leadership Society, of which she was a founding member. She served on the Panhellenic Council, the Senior Class Gift Committee, was the Grier Hall Council President, the Political Science Departmental Tutor, a Scot Ambassador and the Student Representative for the MC Curriculum Committee. Kenzi also participated in SOFIA, Moot Court, Residence Life, where she served as a RA in Fulton Hall and then the HR of McMichael Hall for two years and was on the MC Speech and Debate Team. Kenzi’s proudest moment at MC was having her senior thesis, The Pink Tax: The Persistence of Gender Price Disparity, Published in MJUR’s 2019 Edition.
After graduation, Kenzi moved to Boston to complete her Master of Science in international business with an emphasis in business analytics at Hult International Business School in Cambridge, MA. She moved back home to Illinois during the pandemic to finish her degree virtually in 2020, during which she worked as a consultant for minority owned businesses in Boston affected by COVID-19. She then managed a local tech non-profit for two years before returning to MC.
Kenzi lives in Woodhull with her fiancé, Timothy Yates ’16 and their miniature dachshund, Linus. The two are active in various volunteer groups in the community and enjoy baseball and board games.
