Dan is no stranger to Monmouth College. After spending 12 years covering the Scots for the local radio station, Nolan joined the college in 1999 where he served in as the assistant director of the news bureau and sports information co-director.

Dan took over as the head of the sports information office in fall 2007. He is responsible for overseeing the statistics, publicity and NCAA contacts for the college’s 24 varsity sports and was instrumental in the Scots’ development of of their current website, live streaming of athletic contests and the use of social media.

The former morning man and voice of the Fighting Scots on WRAM-AM and WMOI-FM radio from 1986-98, Dan has a strong sense of the history of the College and especially the rich history of Fighting Scots athletics. He was on the mic for Monmouth’s 100th Bronze Turkey game against Knox College in 1989. In 1997, he was awarded the Illinois Broadcasters’ Association Silver Dome award for excellence in broadcasting.

Active in the community, Dan served three terms as a Monmouth Park District commissioner, designing the district’s disc golf course at Monmouth Park. He is also past president of the local Kiwanis Club and served as the adviser to the college’s division of Kiwanis – Circle K – from 2000-13. Prior to moving to the Monmouth area, Dan served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT in his hometown in Southern Illinois.

Dan resides in Monmouth, just a few blocks from campus with his wife, Kay. The couple has one adult daughter.
