MLCCS season continues with Four By Four; two Monmouth ensembles to perform
Monmouth College will host a pair of music events April 20 and April 23 in the Kasch performance Hall of Dahl Chapel and Auditorium.
At 7 p.m. April 20, the group Four By Four will present the final Maple Leaf Community Concert Series event of the season.
In fully staged and choreographed production numbers, the four dynamic stars of the group will perform the legendary hits of four of the most iconic musical styles in pop music history – the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Motown and the Bee Gees.

At 2:30 p.m. April 23, the College’s Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will present a joint spring concert. It is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Jordan Van Dyke, the Concert Band will perform a “Pops” concert featuring music from favorite movies.
Students Luke Pratt ’18 of Kewanee, Ill. and Tara Oakes ’17 of Marengo, Ill., will conduct “Star Trek Through the Years” and “Highlights from Harry Potter,” respectively. Other music includes “Guardians of the Galaxy (Soundtrack Highlights)” and a concert march titled “Guardians of the Galaxy” that was published in 1984, 24 years before the comic by the same name was published.
Under the direction of David Wetmore, the Wind Ensemble will perform four selections, including “El Relicario” by Jose Padilla and “Elegy for a Young American” by Ronald LoPresti. The group will conclude its portion of the concert with “Shepherd’s Hey” by Percy Grainger and “Festivo” by Edward Gregson.
