A Pair of Monmouth Giants

When retiring Monmouth College chemistry professor Brad Sturgeon presented his final faculty colloquium on March 22 in the Center for Science in Business, he did so with a framed photo of the late Richard “Doc” Kieft” occupying one of the seats in Pattee Auditorium. Kieft, who died in 2009, was a beloved Monmouth chemistry professor who served as a mentor to hundreds of Monmouth students and dozens of fellow faculty members, including Sturgeon, who has taught for nearly 20 years at the College.
