Instrumental Concert on Feb. 27
Free and open to the public, the instrumental concert will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 27.
“The general theme of the concert is the classics, featuring wind band classics and core pieces from our repertoire,” said music professor Morgan Miller, who is directing the Wind Ensemble this year. “Our main piece is ‘Folk Song Suite’ by Vaughan Williams, and the program will feature various student soloists throughout.”
The program will also include “Overture for Winds” by Charles Carter, “Air for Band” by Frank Erickson and “Hosts of Freedom” by Karl King.
The Wind Ensemble includes 26 students, as well as new marching band director John Eckstine, who will play the trombone.
