Stress Free Nature Spaces
Having spent so much time indoors due to quarantines, self-isolations, and just everything being closed, it is easy to have low spirits. All this time spent inside may have disconnected us from the natural environment. Research done by the Harvard Medical School shows that spending more time outdoors has been linked to an increased state of mental health. Spending 20-30 minutes a few times a week can be enough. For times when that may seem too much, listening to nature noises can do the trick.
The Monmouth area has plenty of beautiful nature available to enjoy. The campus itself has wide-open stretches of manicured lawn, trees perfect for a hammock, as well as various benches to relax and get some homework done on. There are other spots around the town of Monmouth when you need a fresh change of environment. This map of the area shows the location of each park.
