Counselors and Religious & Spiritual Life
With the great stressors we are facing right now, it is important for all of us on campus to seek out the amazing resources available to us. The counselors, Cindy Beadles and Tom Caudill, have a page that holds all of the ways to contact them and general information about the department. Not only are there face-to-face counseling sessions available, but their page also gives information on other mental health-based resources. These include different clubs on campus, hotlines for you to call, and various websites containing accurate information on many different types of mental illness. No issue can be too small, talking to a knowledgeable professional like the counselors we have on campus can help you immensely.
Studies have shown that religion and spirituality can have a positive impact on mental health. Both of which are available on our campus and in the Monmouth area. The page for the Religious & Spiritual Life is another useful source. The Presbyterian Church is affiliated with the college, but all faiths and spirituality are welcome! The Presbyterian house located directly across the street from Dahl hosts many programs available for our students, contact Dean of the Chapel Teri Ott, Associate Champlain Jessica Hawkinson Dorow, or Program Assistant Rachel Kelley for any further information not listed on the webpage. For Rev. Teri Ott’s weekly evening prayer visit the Highlander Room on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. or Zoom.
