Motown in Monmouth
‘Supreme Reflections’ to close this year’s Maple Leaf Community Concert Series
Monmouth’s 2014-15 Maple Leaf Community Series will come to a close on April 9 with “Supreme Reflections,” a tribute to The Supremes, at 7 p.m. in the Kasch Performance Hall of Monmouth College’s Dahl Chapel and Auditorium.
Tickets are $30 at the door. Students in college and grades K-12 are admitted free. More information about tickets is available by calling the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce at 309-734-3181.
Written and directed by Motown producer and creative consultant George Solomon and award-winning producer/director Michael Chapman, this trip down Memory Lane features choreography by Paul Holmquist. Unlike the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit “Dreamgirls,” which was loosely based on The Supremes, this show features the group’s original, familiar classic hits and also tells the group’s true story. Among the songs featured are “You Can’t Hurry Love” and “Baby Love.”
The Maple Leaf Community Concert Series has presented internationally-acclaimed talent to the Monmouth community since 1992. An all-volunteer nonprofit organization, the MLCCS is committed to enriching the cultural life of the community through live performances. Through the generosity of annual individual and business donations, and the support of Monmouth College, the concerts are offered at affordable prices.
