Four stories
Students to tell of experiences in France, New Zealand, Scotland, Spain
Four Monmouth College students who traveled abroad in 2014 will present the final International Luncheon of the academic year on April 23 at 12 noon in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room of Stockdale Center.
Recounting their adventures will be seniors Michelle Diedrich of De Pere, Wis., Nick Mariano of St. Charles and Aimee Miller of Lake in the Hills, and sophomore Ashley Schrader of LaMoille.
Diederich spent the spring semester taking classes in art history and economics at the Université de Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens, France. During the summer, Miller had an intensive four-week internship at the Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand, located in the capital city of Wellington.
Schrader and Mariano both participated in off-campus study programs last fall. Schrader studied at the Scottish Association for Marine Science in Oban, while Mariano was in Granada, Spain, where his experiences included a close encounter with a bull.
A buffet lunch, featuring international foods, is available. A meal ticket may be purchased for $8.50 at the luncheon, but lunch reservations must be made two days in advance by calling 309-457-2253. Anyone may attend the presentation without obligation to purchase the meal.
