10th in nation
Forensics team makes impressive debut at national level
With more than 80 schools competing, Monmouth College placed 10th in the President’s Division III Team Sweepstakes at its first-ever national forensics competition.
Six students comprised Monmouth’s team at the 2015 National Forensics Association Championship Tournament, held April 16-20 at Ohio University. They included senior Aimee Miller of Lake in the Hills, junior John Wells of Freeport, sophomore Cole Downey of Geneva, and freshmen Anthony Adams of Chicago, Michael Horath of Chatham and Sophia Slocum of Marengo.
“Each student worked incredibly hard to contribute to the team placement,” said Rebecca Buel, MC’s director of forensics. “This strong finish to the competitive season serves as a solid foundation on which to build years of future success.”
