Justin Jones-Fosu, recently named one of Ebony magazine’s Top 30 Young Leaders, will be the featured speaker at Monmouth College’s Scots Leadership Challenge Conference on Oct. 24 in the Center for Science and Business.
Voted New Speaker of the Year by the organization Campuspeak, Jones-Fosu is known for presentations that are high on energy, humor and practical content. His work implementing effective corporate diversity initiatives ties into the conference’s theme of “Leading in Diversity.” “Along with the rest of the Associated Students of Monmouth College, I strongly believe that this is an important and much needed topic of discussion on our campus,” said Stephanie Kinkaid, assistant director of the college’s Wackerle Career and Leadership Program, who helped organize the event. “We know that the student body will thrive from continuing conversation on diversity through this unique opportunity.” Kinkaid will be one seven college employees who will share their expertise and advice at the conference. She will be joined by two staff members, Erika Buckley, who serves as director of intercultural life, and professional development adviser Jacob McLean. Faculty members speaking at the event will include Wendine Bolon, Wendel Hunigan, Dan Ott and Julie Rothbardt.
