A country Christmas
Nashville quartet to sing holiday classics, original songs at community concert

Monmouth’s 2015-16 Maple Leaf Community Concert Series will continue on Dec. 8 with a Christmas-themed performance by the quartet MARK209 at 7 p.m. in the Kasch Performance Hall of Monmouth College’s Dahl Chapel and Auditorium.
Titled “The Christmas Concert From the Heart of Nashville,” MARK209’s performance promises to be a memorable gift for all ages. Season tickets are $65 for adults, and single-performance tickets are $30 at the door. Students are admitted free. More information about tickets is available by calling the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce at 309-734-3181. The group’s unique name is a reference to Mile Marker 209 in Nashville, which is the location of Music Row and is considered to be the “heart of Nashville.” Though the show’s foundation is a Nashville sound, the quartet seamlessly weaves other styles into its performance to present the sounds of the Christmas season like no other show touring today. Audiences will delight at their updated arrangements of timeless holiday classics and their original material. In today’s entertainment climate, it is rare to find a vocal group of which each member can command the stage on his own. But that’s what MARK209 provides: a tenor who soars with a stratospheric full-voice; a melodious crooning lead; an exquisite tonal quality baritone; and a dynamic bass voice. The Maple Leaf Community Concert Series has presented internationally-acclaimed talent to the Monmouth community since 1992. An all-volunteer nonprofit organization, the MLCCS is committed to enriching the cultural life of the community through live performances. Through the generosity of annual individual and business donations, and the support of Monmouth College, the concerts are offered at family-friendly prices.
