Menifee, Williams join Monmouth staff
With the start of a new semester, two more new faces join the college
- Kam Williams & Anabel Menifee
With the start of a new semester, Kam Williams and Anabel Menifee have begun working at Monmouth College.
The new director of academic support programs, Williams will focus her early efforts on encouraging students and faculty to make the best possible use of the college’s Teaching and Learning Center (TLC), according to associate dean Frank Gersich, Monmouth’s learning resources coordinator. The mission of the TLC is to promote intellectual engagement, cultivate critical thinking and foster academic success.
Williams has held higher education employment positions at Brown Mackie College, Eastern Illinois University, Black Hawk College and Ashford University. While serving in such roles as enrollment adviser and academic adviser, she has performed a variety of administrative duties, including tracking student interaction with college offices and managing a general education department.
Most recently, Williams worked at the Urbana Adult Education Center, assisting students who had ADA accommodations or were first-generation and/or low-income students to overcome various challenges in completing their degree programs. She also worked with individuals to develop strategies to improve job retention and college readiness.
Williams received her bachelor’s degree in history from Saint Ambrose University and earned an MBA and a master’s degree in education from Ashford. She and her husband, Marlon, have a son, MJ.
Menifee, who comes to Monmouth from Knox College, is the new associate director of admission. She
has eight years of experience in admissions and has held various leadership positions within the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling. A graduate of Wartburg College, she is also fluent in Spanish and has experience growing new out-of-state markets.
“In addition to managing a geographic territory, Anabel’s primary focus will be supervising the territory management aspect of our operation,” said Trent Gilbert, Monmouth’s vice president for enrollment management. “She will work closely with the counseling staff in developing, growing and yielding more best-fit students that help us meet our enrollment goals. I am confident that Anabel’s addition will provide an important component of leadership and experience to our office and the Monmouth College community.”
