Guitarists Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb – a.k.a. Loren and Mark – will share their unique musical chemistry and stage presence at the next Maple Leaf Community Concert Series event, to be held at 7 p.m. April 21 in the Kasch Performance Hall of the Monmouth College Dahl Chapel and Auditorium.

Loren and Mark’s diverse repertoire of original and arranged music consists of guitar instrumentals and vocal duets. Influenced by Americana, jazz, country western and classical music, their style of guitar playing is largely built upon the thumb-picking techniques pioneered by guitar greats Merle Travis and Chet Atkins. Their songs feature Loren’s lead vocals and beautiful harmonies from Mark.

Their fans include multiple Grammy Award-winning producer Lloyd Maines, who once said: “Loren and Mark create a brilliant stereo sound of two fine guitarists. I listened to their CD from front to end … pretty amazing.”

Tickets are $30 at the door. Students are admitted free. For more information, call the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce at 309-734-3181 or email info@monmouthilchamber.com.
