Monmouth Associates
West Central Leadership class to present community service project
The 2016 West Central Leadership class will present its community service project at the final Monmouth Associates meeting of the academic year at noon May 19 in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room of Monmouth College’s Stockdale Center.
The 15-member class, which includes six Monmouth College staff members, has been working toward developing the Monmouth Area Professionals, an organization that seeks to serve the community by “providing unique and engaging opportunities for professionals in the greater Monmouth area to learn, connect and grow as a community.”
The May 19 event will also serve as a graduation ceremony for class, who will receive their diplomas. Monmouth College staff members in the program are Sarah Houston, Jake McLean, Terri Rankin, Katie Shipp, Nick Spaeth and Jessica Strong. Also graduating will be Amy Arteaga, Will Grunow, Mary Lewis, Sarah Mabry, Anna Meyer, Jena Phillips, Brooke Robinson, Christina Smith and Ian Smith.
The annual West Central Leadership program teaches residents of Warren and Henderson counties about western Illinois, its people and the leadership skills necessary to help bring about economic and community revitalization.
The Associates program is free; a buffet lunch costs $9. Reservations for lunch can be made by calling 309-457-2231 by May 17 or by e-mail at alumni@monmouthcollege.edu.
A free shuttle van transports passengers from two locations to every Associates luncheon. The van will stop at the northeast quadrant of the Public Square at 11:45 a.m. and at the Faith United Presbyterian Church parking lot at approximately 11:50 a.m. It will return to both locations immediately following the program. Shuttle reservations should be made by calling the above number.
