Academic Sites

Academic department sites use the academic page templates.

Academic Landing Page

The landing page for academic departments has a few default widgets baked into the template. This means content from your group appears on your page when tagged or added to your group (see details below).

Introduction

Add a concise introduction at the top of the page. Edit the page to change the introduction. 

Header Images

Go to Images > Galleries in your group to add an image gallery.

Tag the gallery with “header” to appear at the top of your landing page.

Images will be cropped to 920 x 440px. Upload images that work well at this size.

You can add one image, or a few. Add a caption to each image for accessibility. Try to make the captions informative and include links to more information.

Main Content

Add main content in the editable area below the header gallery. You can add the Testimonials widget to this area by going to Insert > Widget > Testimonial Box. It will show a random testimonial from this group.

In the dashboard, go to Profiles > Testimonials to add a testimonial. Click Get Shared Testimonials to use a testimonial from another group.

Related Links

Add links to other related pages (optional) on separate lines. You can change the “Related Links” title if needed.

Add more text content to this area (optional).

Widgets

You can add various widgets into this area. For example, go to the toolbar and  Insert > Slideshow and you can add an existing gallery from this group. More information on adding galleries.

News Stories (baked in)

3 top stories (most ballooned or newest first) appear beneath the editable areas. Go to the dashboard > Stories to add or edit news stories or add balloons.

Events (baked in)

3 upcoming events from this group appear beneath the editable areas. Go to Events in the dashboard to create events or get shared events from another group.

Info Cards (baked in)

Two info cards appear at the bottom of the page, curated by the web team. These cards are tagged with the group name, otherwise two random cards will appear. Read more about info cards here.

Sidebar Contact Information

The academic department contact information appears in the sidebar on all pages in this group.

Go to Toolbox > Groups click on your group, and edit the Group Contact Information on the right hand side.
