From Championships to Leadership

A Message from Coach Haynes, ’82

One of my proudest moments as a Monmouth College alum and a Fighting Scots coach was the completion of the Huff Athletic Center in 2003

Lit by a skylight, the classic columns of Monmouth College's 1925 gymnasium remain a dramatic feature inside the Huff Athletic Center. Originally framing the exterior entrance to the gym, they will now serve as the focal point of a welcoming remodeled entrance to the Trotter Fitness Complex.received almost as many compliments about something old that remained—the columns from the 1925 gymnasium!

Now, as they near their 100th anniversary, those columns are drawing attention again, as they will frame a new main entrance to the Huff Center’s Trotter Fitness Complex, where our Fighting Scot athletes and fellow students train and work out. The project will feature new signage, lighting and furniture. Our fitness complex is right next door to the M Club Hall of Fame, which showcases champion s   and leaders from well over a century of Monmouth athletics.

I hope you’ll consider making a gift to the Fighting Scots Society to support this wonderful blend of Monmouth College tradition and modern amenities.
