2023 Award Recipient - Roy J. Sye ’13

Roy J. Sye graduated cum laude from Monmouth College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Secondary Education.

While at Monmouth, Roy was an active member of the Crimson Masque Theatre Department, the Scotsmen All Male Acapella Group and with the Chemistry Department. Roy was also a two-term President of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Roy was recognized as Greek Man of the Year and as the Monmouth College Student Leader of the Year in 2012.

Upon graduation, Roy started his professional life working for Sigma Phi Epsilon National Headquarters in Richmond, Virginia, serving as a Regional Director. Roy traveled to various college campuses across the United States consulting on leadership development, change management and recruitment operations.

Roy now serves as a Regional Sales Director for his family business, Sinclair Mineral & Chemical. Roy concentrates his time on the design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of all CAPEX metal cleaning equipment. As a result, Roy has implemented systems for the medical, aerospace, defense, transportation, and alternative energy industries across the world with a portfolio of 100+ customers totaling over $15M in sales.

In 2021, Roy graduated from the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago with his MBA in Executive Management and Entrepreneurship. Roy consistently volunteers his time for Sigma Phi Epsilon serving on various committees and is a frequent facilitator at many national leadership events across the US. Roy currently serves on the Monmouth College Alumni Board and has been an invited guest for several Board of Trustee Meetings. Back home, Roy volunteers in the Kids Ministry at his church. In his free time, Roy enjoys traveling the world, with his high school sweetheart and fellow Fighting Scot wife, Colleen, and two-year-old daughter, Clara. This past summer, Roy became a published author when he and his wife released their children’s book, Monmouth College: A to Z, which can be found in the bookstore today!
