Young Alumnus Award

Celebrating Monmouth’s young leaders.

Alex Tanney ’11

If you’re a football fan and a Fighting Scot, you know Alex Tanney ’11. The nine year NFL player has just this year joined the coaching staff of the Philadelphia Eagles. As the new offensive quality control coach for the Eagles, he calls on the experience and skills learned not only from playing in the NFL, but at Monmouth.

Tanney was the Midwest Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year each of the three seasons he led the Fighting Scots to MWC titles and NCAA playoff berths in 2008, 2009 and 2011. He still tops the NCAA list for all divisions with 157 touchdown passes, 14,249 passing yards, and 1,205 career completions.

Tanney’s award comes on the heels of the Tanney family’s induction as Family of the Year in 2019.
