  • Donde se encuentra Monmouth College?

Monmouth College está ubicado a tres horas al oeste de Chicago.

  • Are there any scholarships or programs I won’t be eligible for if I apply test optional?

No. Test optional candidates are still considered for our Honor’s program, Stockdale Fellows Leadership program, our SOFIA summer research opportunities and for all possible scholarships, including our full-tuition awards.

  • What if you already have my scores? Can I still apply test optional?

Yes. If your scores are included as part of your official high school transcript, or if you submitted them to us from an official testing agency, you may still choose to apply test optional when you submit your admission application. If you choose to apply without test scores, your scores will be hidden in our system and not considered as part of the review of your application.

  • What are the average SAT/ACT scores for admitted students?

For the past few years, our middle 50% for admitted students has averaged around an 18-26 composite ACT score, or a 960-1240 SAT composite score.

  • Why did Monmouth go test optional?

Monmouth College cares about the whole student. Our review process involves a close read of every application so we can get to know everything there is to know about each student who decides to apply. Because we look beyond just the numbers, we believe we have enough information to make a decision with or without scores.

There is also lots of data that demonstrates that test scores do not always paint a full picture in term of a student’s academic potential. Our test optional policy allows YOU to decide how to best present yourself in the application process.

  • How do I know if I should apply test optional?

If you are happy with your SAT/ACT scores and believe they are a good reflection of your academic abilities, then we encourage you to submit them as part of your application. If you have a strong academic record demonstrated by above average grades in challenging courses, but do not feel your SAT/ACT scores match your academic performance in the classroom, you can choose not to submit them.

Though Monmouth College was test optional prior to the pandemic, given the COVID-19 disruption in 2020, we also understand many applicants for the 2021 admission cycle may have much more limited access to testing. Our test optional policy reaffirms our strong belief that we are able of assessing a student’s ability to be successful at Monmouth College with or without test scores.
