Career opportunities and practical experience through internships

Our students are well-prepared for graduate study or employment. Our interns and graduates work in organizations that support developmentally disabled persons, in domestic violence and sexual assault victim services, the criminal justice system, public policy analysis, and community activism and development.

We get out into the community

We learn by experience. Our students become part of community transformation. From our department’s short-term off-campus study programs to our class engagement in the local community, you will apply what you learn in class outside of the classroom long before you graduate.

We do research. We analyze data. We create new knowledge.

Every major in our department conducts their own research project in their senior year, an extraordinary experience that sets our students apart and prepares them for their future.
