Human Services

Human services is an optional concentration in the Sociology and Anthropology major and may also be selected as a minor for students outside the major.

Human services combines study in sociology, anthropology and psychology with a curricular focus on social problems and social policy. This concentration or minor is perfect for students planning careers in human and helping services, including counseling, social services, elder care and social work.

Students will learn, through intellectual engagement and field experience, to understand and effectively interact with individuals, communities, and public and private agencies confronting social challenges.

Human services concentration requirements

A major in Sociology and Anthropology with a Human Services
Concentration requires 9.5 courses in the department and 4 courses outside
the department. Requirements in the department include:
