Resources & Opportunities
Labs and equipment
The biology, chemistry and biochemistry departments have well-equipped laboratory facilities housed with other departments in our Center for Science and Business. The center also includes a math lab, a cell and genetics lab, a molecular lab, and a human anatomy lab with a cadaver.
Introduction to Health Careers class
In addition to a variety of science courses and majors, we offer an “Introduction to Health Careers” class (BIOL 207) for students interested in exploring medicine or other health professions.
It helps inform students about career choices in the health professions and reviews expectations and requirements for successful applicants to professional school. The class features guest speakers and hands-on activities such as suturing and blood pressure checks.
HealthCare internships
We partner with OSF HealthCare to provide our students with real world experience outside the classroom and in their hospital system. Talk to your advisor or visit Wackerle to find the internship that is best for you.
