Chorale
We bring together nearly every major to make beautiful music.
- Our favorite place is home sweet home on the steps of Wallace Hall.
- In Salzburg, Austria.
- At the Vatican.
- At the Alamo in San Antonio.
- In Times Square, New York City.
The Monmouth Chorale, directed by Tim Pahel, serves as an ambassador to alumni, prospective students and the general public. We give students well-rounded musical experiences with high expectations for performance and competency.
Sisterhood (and brotherhood) of the traveling chorale
We’ve toured extensively nationally and internationally. We’ve sang in nearly half of the states in the nation, including performances at Carnegie Hall in 2013 and 2018. Internationally, we’ve sang in Spain, Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic.
Chorale collaborations
We frequently collaborate with other campus ensembles, including our chamber orchestra and our concert choir for performances of masterworks. We have combined with the Galesburg Community Chorus, the Knox College Choir and professional orchestra and soloists for a performance of Mozart’s Requiem.
Recent commissions include works composed for the group by Joan Szymko, Jaakko Mäntyjärvi and Donna Gartman Schultz.
