Resources & Opportunities
Long-term health for your career
In the United States alone there are a variety of complex public health issues to examine — including how to provide healthcare for a large aging population, recent state-level and national healthcare legislation, and national pandemic preparedness and response. International issues include nutrition, vaccinations and disease prevention.
In other words, there’s a lot of room to make your mark in this field.
Careers in public health and health-related fields are on the rise nationally. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that careers in health will be one of the fastest-growing sectors well into the future. Trust us, we do our research.
Get off campus
Students in the Global Public Health program participate in either an internship or a study-abroad program focused on health and designed to deepen their understanding of specific issues. Many students choose to study abroad for a full semester, but we also offer short-term two-week trips during our January and May Scots Terms.
Peace Corps Prep program
Global public health students may also be interested in our certified Peace Corps Prep program, giving peace corps applicants a leg up in the process after graduation.
