Health Education
Health should be hands-on. Learn from our faculty and community partners, like Kira Schumm, who is the community health coordinator at the Warren County Health Department.
Health educators teach, support and coach others to understand more about their personal and community health in an effort to help create healthier lives. This encompasses subjects including fitness and nutrition, as well as mental well-being, sports safety, the study of disease, and human development.
Hands-On Health Education
Teaching others about their health should be interactive and hands-on. So why should learning about it be any different? Get practical experience in the classroom both as a student and a teacher at Monmouth. A collaboration between the Exercise Science, Global Public Health, Psychology and Educational Studies departments, the Health Education major prepares students to understand the complexities of health and wellness.
Career Opportunities
If I major in health education, I’ll become a health teacher, right? Absolutely! But the industries and opportunities within health are vast. You can explore fields including:
- Public and community health
- Corporate wellness
- Personal health coaching
- Health administration
Our faculty and staff will help you figure out what it is within health you enjoy most and dive into that more. Interested in going on to a graduate program instead? We’ll prepare you to get there, too!
