The art and educational studies departments have partnered to design a robust art education program. Students can expect a broad and thorough art experience through the art department while learning research-based methods for teaching art to pre-kindergarten through high school students through the educational studies department.

Community connection

Community is an integral part of Monmouth’s teacher preparation. Students’ time in the preparation program involves working closely with area art teachers during their practicum work in the classroom. The final year at Monmouth concludes with a semester-long student teaching experience in an art classroom.
