Students interested in a career in Athletic Training must attend an Athletic Training graduate program. Those pursuing admission into athletic training programs must complete specific prerequisite courses, but a specific major is not required. Most students major in Exercise Science.
The following courses are the most likely to be recommended or required for Athletic Training graduate schools. These prerequisite courses vary by school. Students are encouraged to consider their specific list of graduate programs in order to work with an advisor to formulate a customized four-year plan.
Courses required or recommended for Athletic Training program application:
MATH 141 (if required based on placement)
Across the Core Curriculum and other programs of Monmouth College, most transfer courses are accepted. Departments Chairs have the final determination regarding how transfer credit will be applied to meet major or minor requirements. More information for transfer students is available on our Admission Transfer Credits page.
