BS in Accounting 

  • 36 credits are required to complete this degree program.
  • 16 credits are required for this major. These will be ACCT, BUSI, and ECON credits.
  • To make good academic progress, take 4 course credits each semester.
  • Requirements for the Accounting Major are included. Fill in the remaining credits every semester with Core Requirements (see guidelines below) or general electives.
  • One Monmouth College credit is equal to a four credit-hours.

Additional Notes:

  1. In the first year, it is recommended that BUSI 105 be taken in the semester that ECON 200 is not taken. BUSI 105 meets the Inquiry in the Social Sciences Core requirement.
  2. A QR waiver is also acceptable for the FYQR Core Foundations requirement.
  3. The Outside elective must come from a department outside of ACCT, BUSI, or ECON.

Guidelines for Core Requirements:

  • Core Foundations area courses – to be completed in the first year.
  • Core Inquiry area courses – recommended to complete one each year.
    • At least one Inquiry course is offered within the Major requirements.
  • Core Engagement area courses – recommended to complete one each year.
    • Check if an Engagement course is offered within the Major requirements.
