Monmouth College Athletics

The Huff Athletic Center, which opened in the fall of 2003, is a comprehensive facility for sports, fitness and recreation. The $22 million, 155,000-square-foot complex is built around the college's original 1925 gymnasium and the more recent Glennie Gymnasium.

Named in memory of Elizabeth Huff, whose husband, Walter '56, provided major funding for the facility, the Huff Athletic Center is located at the heart of campus and is open daily to members of the campus community.

A large addition to the west contains a the Pepper Natatorium with eight-lane competition pool, a steam room and sauna, and a multipurpose fieldhouse with a 200-meter track.

The track, which is covered with a durable Mondo surface, was given in memory of Charles H. Niblock '24. The infield space accommodates jumping and throwing events, as well as practice areas for basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer and baseball.

The Huff Center also encompasses the Trotter Fitness Center, a wellness suite, the M Club Hall of Fame, Glennie Gymnasium, Byrnes Educational Wing, Marshall Training Facilities and the home and visitor locker rooms.

From the East

• Take US-34 WEST. As you enter Monmouth, turn left at the stoplights onto NORTH 11^TH STREET (Baseball-soccer complex is on the left.)
• Travel on NORTH 11^TH STREET to the stop sign at EAST BROADWAY 
• Turn right on EAST BROADWAY and continue four blocks to NORTH 7^TH STREET.
• Turn right on NORTH 7^th STREET. The Huff Athletic Center is located one block north on North 7^th Street.

From the West

• Take US-34 EAST toward GALESBURG.
• Turn right at the third set of stoplights onto NORTH 6th STREET and proceed SOUTH to the second four-way stop at EAST BROADWAY.
• Turn left and go one block EAST on EAST BROADWAY.
• Turn left on NORTH 7^th STREET. The Huff Athletic Center is located one block north on North 7^th Street.

From the North

• Take US-67 SOUTH to Monmouth.
• Turn left at the stoplights onto US-34 EAST.
• Turn right at the next stoplight onto NORTH 6^TH STREET. Continue SOUTH on NORTH 6TH STREET to the second four-way stop at EAST BROADWAY.
• Turn left and go one block EAST on EAST BROADWAY.
• Turn left on NORTH 7^th STREET. The Huff Athletic Center is located one block north on North 7^th Street.

From the South

• Take US-67 NORTH to Monmouth, it will merge with US-34 at the southern edge of the city.
• Take US-34 EAST toward GALESBURG.
• Turn right at the third set of stoplights onto NORTH 6th STREET and proceed SOUTH to the second four-way stop at EAST BROADWAY.
• Turn left and go one block EAST on EAST BROADWAY.
• Turn left on NORTH 7^th STREET. The Huff Athletic Center is located one block north on North 7^th Street
