Dear New Fighting Scot:
Congratulations on your decision to attend Monmouth College this fall. The transition into your college years is a very exciting time, and I hope you have enjoyed your experience with Monmouth thus far. There are many great memories and experiences ahead for you.
My name is Max Seisser and I serve as the President of the Interfraternity Council, a representative body of the five men’s fraternities at Monmouth College. In my time as a fraternity member, countless opportunities to build my leadership skills have come before me and allowed me to experience so many things I would not have been able to otherwise. Fraternities can transform young men into future leaders of our generation. You will find fraternity members involved in all aspects of student life at Monmouth College and make it what college was meant to be.
As part of that involvement and investment in our campus, the Interfraternity Council will present two awards of $150 to two incoming first year students. One award will be awarded to a student who has shown profound success in academics. The second will be awarded to a man who has demonstrated himself as a leader in his extra-curricular activities and service to his community. You can fill out the online application which is due August 9, 2013.
I encourage you to apply for these awards—believe me, $150 dollars is a great way to decrease the cost of books. Applying for these scholarships in no way requires you to join a fraternity. We would simply like to reward incoming men who exemplify the principles of our organizations which are essential for success through life.
Perhaps one day you will consider joining a fraternity at Monmouth College. Membership in these organizations will make a profound impact on your life, not only in college, but also throughout your professional career and beyond.
