Major: Biology
Hometown: Avon, Ill.
Class Year: 2011
Ruff, a Biology major, is also a linebacker for the Fighting Scots Football Team. “Some of my favorite memories have been the football games and spending time with my teammates,” Ruff explained.

After graduation, Ruff plans to attend physical therapy school. “It’s a three-year program, and I am hoping to attend Midwestern University, which is near Chicago,” he stated, adding, “I want to go into physical therapy because when I was younger, I had a lot of sports-related injuries.” Ruff thinks that he would be able to relate well to patients because of his past experiences.

In his free time, Ruff stays active, playing basketball at the Huff Center and participating in intramural sports. Ruff is also a member of Blue Key, Beta Beta Beta, Alpha Lambda Delta, and the National Society for Collegiate Scholars.

Ruff has enjoyed getting to know his professors and classmates, and advises incoming students to “show the professors that you care and that you are there to work hard. It is important to get off on the right foot.”
