I am a Leader - Samantha Jagust

Image of Sam JagustRecalling random road trips to Galesburg or the Quad Cities with the other residents from Liedman Hall, Samantha Jagust says, “It is amazing how much one can get to know a person in a day.” Interactions like this are just one reason why Jagust became a Resident Assistant. “This position has not only taught me how to be a leader, but it taught me how to step out of my comfort zone,” she says.

Since joining the Residence Life staff, the member of Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity has become president of the Panhellenic Council, and is responsible for leading the 150 sorority women on campus. She also volunteers as a Scot Ambassador. “I can use the tools that I learn being an RA and apply them to the other positions,” she says. Jagust highly recommends that others apply to join the Residence Life staff so that they may benefit from the experience, which she describes as “truly unique.”

Jagust currently serves as a Head Resident in Liedman Hall.
