Facilitating Non-Testing Accommodations

2010-2011

Faculty with students who are requesting any academic accommodations will receive an e-mail from Disability Services verifying the appropriate academic accommodations and the need for such accommodations. It is recommended, students also contact each of their professors to discuss the accommodations that will be necessary in each specific class.

Note Taking Assistance

The faculty of students who have been approved for note-taking services will be provided with directions on finding a note taker. The directions will give the professor the verbiage to anonymously announce, e-mail, or post on Moodle to the class that a student needs a note-taker. If the student is comfortable approaching another student for a copy of class notes on his or her own, the student is welcome to do so.  If neither of these procedures is successful in locating a note-taker, Disability Services will work with the instructor and student to facilitate the process of locating a note-taker. Disability Services will provide the note-taker with duplication (non-carbon) paper to take written notes.
