MONMOUTH, Ill. — Monmouth College students Kelsey Cole and Cassie Frantz will present the next International Luncheon program on Nov. 12 at noon in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room of the Stockdale Center.

Titled "Living in the Margins of Society" their talk will chronicle their recent semester in Mexico through a study abroad program sponsored by Augsburg College. The students describe their experiences as "amazing" and "life-changing."

Said Frantz, a senior from Dunlap, "This experience has turned my world upside down. "Whereas many people travel to Mexico for a week or two to experience the pristine beaches and sample rich Mexican food, I lived in the culture and learned how the majority of the world lives."

Frantz, a Macomb High School graduate, is majoring in mathematics and Spanish. Cole, a senior from Grayslake, is an English major.

A buffet lunch, featuring international foods, is available. A meal ticket may be purchased for $7.25 in the food service office in Stockdale Center. Lunch reservations must be made in advance by calling 309-457-2149, but anyone may attend the presentation without obligation to purchase the meal.

Cole's study journal from her trip is available here.
