Myanmar's role is topic of next Great Decisions

Monmouth College faculty member James Godde will introduce the topic “Myanmar and Southeast Asia” at the next Great Decisions program on Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room of the college’s Stockdale Center.
The West has welcomed unprecedented democratic reforms made by Myanmar’s government. Godde will ask what challenges Myanmar must overcome before it can fully join the international community, and what role it can play in Southeast Asia.
Following opening remarks by Godde, who led three MC students on a three-week trip to Southeast Asia last year, there will be approximately one hour of group discussion.
Great Decisions is a nationwide program sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association, a non-partisan, non-governmental association that works to increase Americans’ understanding of significant foreign policy issues.
