Monmouth College’s Steve Bloomer and James Godde will each be featured at a campus event during the coming week in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room in Stockdale Center.
Bloomer will lead the next Great Decisions forum, “Threat Assessment in a Period of Scarcity,” on March 20 at 7:30 p.m. A1983 Monmouth graduate and a retired Army colonel, Bloomer returned to his alma mater in 2007 as a senior development officer after serving as the chief of staff for the Iowa Army National Guard. Following his opening remarks, there will be approximately one hour of group discussion.
On March 21 at noon, Godde, a professor of biology, will deliver a talk at the Monmouth Associates luncheon titled “From OTR to SIRT to OCLEP: The Past, Present and Future of Donor-Sponsored Student Trips at Monmouth College.” The acronyms stand for, respectively, On the Rails, Summer International Research Trip and Off-Campus Learning Experience Program, educational experiences in which Godde has participated as a faculty leader.
The Associates program by Godde is free; a buffet lunch costs $10. Reservations can be made by calling 309-457-2316 by March 18.
A free shuttle van transports passengers from two locations to every Associates luncheon. The van will stop at the Faith United Presbyterian Church parking lot at 11:45 a.m. and at the northeast quadrant of the Public Square at approximately 11:50 a.m. It will return to both locations immediately following the program. Shuttle reservations should be made by calling the above number.
