MC grads Bold, Caron to return for election forum on Sept. 27

A pair of 2010 Monmouth College graduates will return to campus on Sept. 27 for the next event in the college’s Citizenship Election Engagement Project.
At 7 p.m. in the Morgan Room in Poling Hall, Rachel Bold and Emily Caron will participate in a forum discussion moderated by political science lecturer Robin Johnson. The forum is free and open to the public.
A double major in international business and Spanish, with a minor in economics, Caron began her professional career as a field organizer for the Iowa Democratic Party. Her duties included organizing events and community activities to support local and statewide campaigns.  Caron also recruited and organized volunteers to do political survey calls and door knocks for absentee ballots. Currently employed as the development coordinator at Elmhurst College, she remains active in politics as a volunteer for the Obama for America campaign.
While at MC, Bold double majored in international studies and communications and interned in the office U.S. Rep. Donald Manzullo, R-Ill. Following graduation, she worked for the Illinois Senate Republican’s communications and public affairs staff in Springfield, and she is currently working as a campaign manager on a state senate campaign.
