Monmouth Associates to feature 2017 West Central Leadership class

The 2017 West Central Leadership class will present its community service project at the final Monmouth Associates meeting of the academic year at noon May 18 in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room of Monmouth College’s Stockdale Student Center.

The seven-member class, which includes two Monmouth College staff members, has been working with the Jamieson Community Center and the 1st Street Armoury to feed the community.

The May 18 event will also serve as a graduation ceremony for class members, who will receive their diplomas. Monmouth College staff members enrolled in the program are Mollie Harrod and Karoline Kamzic. Also graduating will be Alex Dunham, Kellen Hinrichsen, Linda King, Stephanie McVey and Naomi Ramage.

The annual West Central Leadership program teaches residents of Warren and Henderson counties about western Illinois, its people and the leadership skills necessary to help bring about economic and community revitalization.

There is a $9 charge for lunch at Monmouth Associates. Lunch reservations can be made by phone at 309-457-2231 by May 16 or by email.

A free shuttle van transports passengers from two locations to every Associates luncheon. The van stops at the northeast quadrant of the Public Square at 11:45 a.m. and at the Faith United Presbyterian Church parking lot at 11:50 a.m. It returns to both locations immediately following the program. Shuttle reservations can be made also by calling 309-457-2231.
