Roger Hess of Germantown Hills has been appointed director of construction services at Monmouth College.

“Roger’s initial responsibilities will be to serve as the college’s primary representative for planning, design and construction of the college’s new academic building for the sciences and business as well as other related projects,” said vice president for finance and business Don Gladfelter.

For the past three years, Hess has been the owner’s representative at Lillibridge Healthcare Services in Chicago. As the senior project manager for Methodist Hospital Medical Center, he had full responsibility from concept through occupancy for the management of all phases of a $45 million inpatient and acute care “Make Ready” capital project.

From 2006 to 2008, Hess served as manager of construction services for the Order of St. Francis Healthcare System in Peoria, where he led a staff of six project managers providing leadership and support to six hospitals within the OSF system.

Within the past 10 years, Hess has also served as president and director of construction at DesignBUILD Inc., in Peoria. Before that, he was a senior project manager for Chicago-based Pepper Construction Co., the firm that will be constructing MC’s new academic building.

A 1977 graduate of Augustana College, Hess also received academic training in design and construction at Muscatine (Iowa) Junior College.
