Correa to speak at Monmouth Associates

Omar Correa, vice president for enrollment management at Monmouth College, will address the final Monmouth Associates gathering of the academic year on May 17 at noon in the Main Dining Room of the college’s Stockdale Center.

Correa’s remarks will be especially targeted to members of the 2012 West Central Leadership graduating class, who will receive their diplomas at the luncheon. The annual program teaches residents of Warren and Henderson counties about western Illinois, its people and the leadership skills necessary to help bring about economic and community revitalization. Graduating will be: Jodie Atteberry of Burlington, Iowa; J.R. Campbell, Sean Cavanaugh and Dina Chick, all of Monmouth; Larisa Good of Smithshire; Hannah Maher of Galesburg; and Elizabeth Reitman of Kirkwood.

Correa is completing his second year as a member of the college’s administrative staff. Previously, he was vice president for enrollment at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., where, under his watch, the college achieved record enrollments. Part of that can be attributed to a 5 percent increase in retention after Correa established Concordia’s office of student success and retention.

A free shuttle van transports passengers from two locations to every Associates luncheon. The van will stop at the Faith United Presbyterian Church parking lot at 11:45 a.m. and at the northeast quadrant of the Public Square at approximately 11:50 a.m. It will return to both locations immediately following the program.
