Monmouth College will host its 18th Annual Cultural Festival on Sept. 15. Featuring free food, entertainment and exhibits from around the world, the festival will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on the college’s Dunlap Terrace.
Entertainment will be provided by two Chicago-based groups – M.A.D.D. Rhythms Tap Academy, a performing arts company featuring versatile tap dancers, and by Minianka, an Afrikan drum and dance emsemble. Indian classical dances and tabla and sitar music will also be performed.
“The Cultural Festival is a great opportunity for the campus community and local residents to enjoy good food and entertainment and find out what’s new with student clubs and organizations,” said Ruby Pentsil-Bukari the college’s director of intercultural life.
Countries represented will include Burma, Canada, France, Ghana, Ireland, Japan, Nepal, Pakistan and Sweden.
In the event of rain, the festival will be moved inside to the nearby Stockdale Center.
