MC theatre celebrates holidays with community production of 'A Christmas Carol'

Approximately 80 members of the college and local community participated in "A Christmas Carol."

The Monmouth College theatre department in November partnered with the local Buchanan Center for the Arts to present a large-scale community production of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic, “A Christmas Carol.”

Three evening performances and a matinee were offered, with one cast taking the stage on opening night and at the matinee, and the other cast doing the other two evening shows.

The production was directed by Professor Bill Wallace and designed by Professor Doug Rankin.

The two casts featured approximately 80 MC students and townspeople, including the entire family of assistant physics professor Tim Stiles.

“It is amazing to have the chance to work with my wife and young children on a theatre production,” said Stiles. “Not only does this experience provide us with the opportunity to share our love of theatre with our children, but also it gives us some quality family time as we practice our lines and help each other remember our prompts.”
