7th Ave. up next in Maple Leaf Community Concert Series

MONMOUTH, Ill. – The next act coming to the corner of Seventh Avenue and Broadway to perform in the Maple Leaf Community Concert Series is, appropriately, 7th Ave.

A group of vocalists brought together in 2016 by Chris Rupp, 7th Ave. will perform at 7 p.m. April 12 in the Kasch Performance Hall of Monmouth College’s Dahl Chapel and Auditorium.

The founder of Home Free and the Chris Rupp Project, Rupp has assembled a vocal quartet that is forging a new identity in the music world. Each member has a unique musical and performance background, allowing for exciting possibilities. The group combines elements of pop, swing, rockabilly, country and much more, covering diverse titles such “Uptown Funk” and “Route 66.”

“7th Ave is aiming to reinvent and uproot the standard definitions of all of those genres through our innovative arrangements and fun music videos,” said Rupp.

Tickets are $30 at the door. Students and Monmouth College personnel with an ID are admitted free. For more information, call the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce at 309-734-3181 or email
