Jennifer Coolidge, known for more than a decade for her role as the legendary “Stifler’s mom” in the “American Pie” movies, will present a comedy show at Monmouth College on Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. in the Dahl Chapel and Auditorium.
Tickets for MC students, faculty and staff will cost $5 and will be available online through PayPal and in the Stockdale Center lobby during the lunch and dinner hours. Ticket sales are not yet open to the general public.
The Association for Student Activity Programming (ASAP) helped make Coolidge’s appearance possible, and attracting a star of her magnitude was their plan for starting off a new year of special events.
In an interview with the student newspaper, Jennifer Wheeler, a junior from Byron who serves as ASAP’s president, said, “She is well known, and people are already talking about it. We believed that having something like this right away before Family Weekend and Homecoming could ignite excitement throughout campus.”
“We hope to show that the students have the power to decide who comes to campus and what kinds of events we have,” added assistant director of events Danielle Tucker, who noted that ASAP has been trying to focus on bringing bigger names to campus.
Coolidge has appeared in several popular films, including the first two “Legally Blonde” movies, “A Cinderella Story” and “Click.” She made her TV debut in a 1993 episode of “Seinfeld,” playing a voluptuous masseuse who wouldn’t offer her professional services to her boyfriend, Jerry.
